SPRING, TEXAS – The Southern Texas PGA Section announced the 2017 Levy Cup Matches Team on Wednesday. The team will be led by Captains Charlie Eskridge and Christopher Pribyl. This Ryder Cup style event between the Northern Texas PGA and the Southern Texas PGA Assistant and Senior members will be the first meeting and is set for October 15-17 at Royal Oaks Country Club in Dallas.
Along with Pribyl, the 2017 STPGA Team includes assistants Jesse Droemer (Houston Country Club), Ryan Briggs (Whispering Pines Golf Club), Jeffrey Litwak (Lochnivar Golf Club), Michael Rodriguez (Royal Oaks Country Club), Brandon Drake (Spanish Oaks Golf Club) as well as seniors Billy Sitton (International Pro Ams Inc.), Edwin Dickens (Lady Bird Johnson Golf Club), Troy Schleicher (Lake Windcrest Golf Club), Steve Parker (Life Member), Tim Hobby (The Clubs at Sonterra), and Mike Kullberg (Sterling Country Club)
ABOUT THE LEVY CUP MATCHES
The newly created Levy Cup Matches will be contested much like the Joe Black Cup Matches. The Levy Cup team consists of six Southern Texas PGA Assistant Professionals and six Southern Texas PGA Senior Members (age 50 and over) competing against a Northern Texas PGA team comprised in the same fashion.
Established in 2017, the Levy Cup Matches were created to honor PGA of America President, Paul Levy.
