Eagle Pointe Pro-Am Raises $40,000 for Southern Texas PGA Foundation
On Monday, April 20th, Eagle Pointe Golf Club hosted a Pro-Am to benefit the Southern Texas PGA Foundation and the Shawn Stefani Scholarship Fund. Presented by Barbers Hill Bank, the event celebrated its 10th Anniversary with a beautiful day for golf and a field of 48 teams consisting of four amateurs and one golf professional. Since its inception the event has raised $200,000 to help benefit the Southern Texas PGA Foundation and its programs.
Charity Golf Summer 2014 is complete! Over 50 Southern Texas PGA Professionals participated in this year's fundraiser and playing marathon, raising an astounding $154,000 for the STPGA Foundation and 26 local charities. In its four years, the Charity Golf Summer fundraising effort has generated over $450,000.
The Southern Texas PGA Foundation partnered with Texas Children's Hospital in 2014 to introduce a fundraising opportunity for junior golfers only. Kids fore a Cause is an online fundraising campaign any STPGA Junior Member can participate in that benefits both the Southern Texas PGA Foundation and Texas Childrens Hospital.
21 juniors participated in the first ever Kids Fore a Cause, raising over $11,000 for the Southern Texas PGA Foundation and Texas Children's Hospital. Raquel Wood raised nearly $3000 on her own, earning her top prize for her efforts which included the chance to walk with a Cleveland-Srixon PGA Tour player at the 2015 Shell Houston Open.
