The Dick Forester Quarter Century Award is given in odd years.
Eligibility:
Southern Texas PGA Members in good standing that have a minimum of 25 years as a PGA Member. Past recipients and individuals that fall into one of the listed categories, found by clicking here, are not eligible.
Selection Criteria:
This award, named after long time PGA Member Dick “Pro” Forester, is presented to a 25-year Member who has promoted golf, inspired fellow professionals, provided leadership and service to the Section and the Association. This award is the equivalent to a lifetime achievement or distinguished service award for the Southern Texas PGA.
This award is one of the highest honors paid to a Member of the Southern Texas PGA Section. Candidates should possess outstanding qualities of leadership, strong moral character and a substantial record of service to the organization and the game of golf. The award is based on a PGA Professional’s entire career.
I. The candidate will be considered on the basis of:
· Overall performance, tenure and reputation as a PGA Golf Professional
· Service to the Section and the organization
· Leadership ability
· Image and ability to inspire fellow golf professionals
· Promotion and growth of golf
· Playing ability and participation in local, Section and National events
