Selection Criteria:
The Southern Texas PGA Bill Strausbaugh Award is presented to those PGA members who have shown outstanding integrity, commitment to mentoring PGA Professionals and make a significant impact on the careers of PGA Professionals. Involvement in Association, community and charitable activities will also be taken under consideration for this award.
I.The candidate will be considered on the basis of:
Level of Service to his or her Section and/or the Association.
Leadership ability.
Contributions to building and growing the image of the game of golf, the PGA Professional and the Association.
Involvement and significant contributions towards improving the skills of other PGA Professionals.
Involvement in civic activities within his or her community.
Involvement with local charitable causes.
Overall integrity and recognition as a person of outstanding character.
II.The Awards Committee feels that this award should not be based on the candidate's entire past experience and commitment for continuing one's contributions and assistance. However, the committee will place emphasis on achievements during the past five years.
