HORSESHOE BAY, TEXAS
(July 7, 2020)—James Bolton, Assistant Professional and Billy Harris, PGA Head Professional at Dallas Country Club have won the 2020 Texas Team Championship with rounds of 61-65 for a two-day total of 126 (-17).
“We tried to play our best,” said Harris. “James played excellent on Ram yesterday when we shot 10 under, which is about as good as we could play, and then today we made the most out of our round.”
Coming into today’s final round, Bolton & Harris trailed by two strokes. After carding an impressive 7 birdies, the pair finished Round 2 bogey-free and surpassed the team of Stetson McMillan, Teaching Professional and John Sikes, PGA Member and Owner of John Sikes Golf Academy who finished the tournament tied in second place with Jeff Strong, PGA Member and Billy Sitton, PGA Member at Triumph Golf LLC at 127 (-16).
“We made some good putts down the stretch today,” said Bolton. “When we got it in a little sideways, we made some power putts for birdies and that saw us through the round.”
