Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club Announced as Host of 46th Joe Black Cup Matches
STPGA looks to reclaim the cup November 15-17, 2026

SPRING, TX (February 4, 2026) - In partnership with the Northern Texas PGA and Mr. Joe Black, the Southern Texas PGA is excited to announce that Driftwood Golf and Ranch Club will host the 46th Texas Joe Black Cup Matches, November 15-17, 2026.
This will be Driftwood’s first time hosting the matches. All parties involved would like to thank Mike Meldman, Founder and Chairman, Discovery Land Company, Casey Paulson, Driftwood Project President, PGA, and all team members at Driftwood for making this possible.
In the spirit of collaboration, the two sister sections have agreed to host the matches in Southern Texas for the second year in a row, and specifically in the Austin area, to be in Mr. Black’s hometown.
The Joe Black Cup Matches continue to be a showcase event for the top PGA Members from the state of Texas playing for their respective Section and trying to win the cup. PGA Members will qualify for their respective teams throughout the upcoming Championship season throughout 2026. Teams will be finalized in late September after both Sections host their Section Championship.
In addition, the 10th Annual Levy Cup Matches will now take place in the Northern Texas PGA section, November 1-3, 2026. An official site will be announced at a later date. This maintains the tradition that each section hosts one Ryder Cup-style event each year for its PGA Members.
“Both matches mean so much to our Membership, and we are excited for another year of great competition, camaraderie, and networking,” said Dr. Rich Ballinger, President of the Southern Texas PGA. “We enjoy honoring both Mr. Black and Mr. Levy, and the STPGA will be ready to win both matches this coming fall.”
Captains for both events will be announced later this spring.
