Jason Alexander, PGA – Energy, Family-Man, Making a Difference!

PGA of America Member, Jason Alexander, is more than just a Golf Professional that entertains and brings high energy to anything he does. Born and raised in Bellville, Texas, his journey in golf started at the age of 15 where he quickly learned the game and fell in love. His playing ability allowed him to compete at a high level in junior golf and then went on to Stephen F. Austin State University.

In 2005, Jason crossed paths with PGA Member Mark Steinbauer, who was the Director of Golf at The Club at Carlton Woods. Through this relationship, Jason became the Head Golf Professional at the Club, and has been there ever since.

“I went to visit the club, fell in love with it, and the rest is history,” said Alexander who became a PGA of America Member in 2009.

However, there is more to know about Jason outside of his life at Carlton Woods, and the two words that come to mind are family man. Jason and his wife Shawna have two children, Austin and Myles. Five years ago, Austin was diagnosed with Sotos Syndrome, a rare generic disorder that added a new element to Jason’s life. Jason quickly had to learn to balance work and supporting Austin to ensure he was living the best life possible.

“I take him to all of his activities and participate in all of his school functions,” said Alexander. “We are trying to give him the most joy in his life as possible.”

The Alexander’s cherish spending time with each other, especially on the weekends. They ride horses on Saturday and head to the gym on Sunday. A lot of activities Austin participates in are sensory driven to help him use his hands, given he is non-verbal.

Coincidentally, around the same time that Austin was born, Jason started “The Pros Show” at The Club at Carlton Woods. The show was first designed to give updates to the members via video rather than traditional emails. The show has grown and taken on many different forms throughout the years, but today his love for his son and the show have joined together.

In addition to golf content, it now features special needs kids and their stories. New in 2024, the show will premiere on the CW Network Saturday nights starting April 13.

“I have really jumped into the special needs community, and we have met many wonderful people through it. It’s my new life’s calling to be a leader in that community and build something special.”

Jason’s worlds are colliding because of Austin, and he couldn’t be happier. He spends time with Austin and his friends on the course to help establish a strong relationship with them. Jason continues to showcase that golf is more than a game. It gives you relationships that will last a lifetime and positively impact lives.

The Southern Texas PGA is made up of many unique PGA of America Members that love golf and are the backbone to the industry. Throughout the year, we look forward to showcasing more unique stories like this and appreciate Jason’s support and passion for the game and all things STPGA.

Jason will continue to showcase his energy and passion for the industry this coming Monday night as our official emcee at the Annual Awards Banquet.

STPGA 2026 Q1 UPDATE Record Growth & Our Roadmap Ahead Dear STPGA Members and Associates, We recently kicked off 2026 with our first Board Meeting and Annual Meeting in San Antonio. It was inspiring to see over 200 members in attendance for what was a productive and insightful few days. As we look toward the year ahead, I am proud to share some significant highlights regarding our Section’s health and future direction. Exceptional Financial Growth During the Annual Meeting, we reported our 2025 year-end financials, and I am pleased to confirm that the STPGA remains in excellent financial condition. Revenue Milestone: We surpassed $8.7 million in revenue for 2025, marking a 55% increase since 2021. National Standing: The STPGA is now the 3rd largest operation out of the 41 PGA Sections—a remarkable feat considering we rank 11th in total membership. Reserve Fund: Our financial success has allowed us to establish a conservatively invested reserve fund. This provides a safety net for unforeseen circumstances and the flexibility to expand our staff, enhance our programs, and capitalize on future opportunities. A Roadmap for the Future We were thrilled to unveil our finalized Vision, Mission, and Strategic Pillars . It has been several years since this foundational document was updated, and these pillars will now serve as the compass for all annual planning and goal setting.

During the Orientation, all attendees must satisfy the requirements below to receive credit for attendance: · Join the Google Meet within five (5) minutes of the scheduled start time · Have their camera on for the entirety of the presentation · Introduce themselves during the introduction portion of the Orientation PGA of America Level 1 Associates must complete this orientation prior to participating in any Southern Texas PGA Tournament or Social Function starting in 2026. We wanted to start to make you aware of this now so that you are prepared come 2026. The STPGA will be having at least 2 of these orientations in March for any Level 1 Associate already in the program and has not advanced to Level 2, so that you can still participate in all events in 2026! Please note: This policy begins with the Pro-Pro Champ in March. For any event in January and February, Level 1 Associates can participate without attending an orientation, as our first orientation isn't until March. Click here for the full outline of the program, view all eleven dates that an orientation will be hosted, and the landing page with more information accessible to you.
