Milstead and Bryant Capture 2026 9/9/9 Pro-Pro Championship!

LEAGUE CITY, TEXAS (June 23, 2026) – Three countries, three formats and 27 holes later, Michael Milstead, PGA Associate at The Back Nine Golf (Houston Memorial), and Cooper Bryant, PGA Associate at Lakeside Country Club, emerged as champions of the 2026 Southern Texas PGA 9/9/9 Pro-Pro Championship at Magnolia Creek Golf Club.
The one-day event featured nine holes of Scramble on the Scotland Nine, nine holes of Four-Ball on the Ireland Nine and nine holes of Modified Alternate Shot on the England Nine. Each format required a different approach, placing an emphasis on strategy, communication and execution throughout the 27-hole championship.
Milstead and Bryant combined for a final score of 12-under-par, using strong iron play, timely putting and consistent teamwork to conquer the championship’s unique three-format test.
“We started with some good momentum,” Milstead said. “I didn’t make him putt much during the Scramble, which was the goal, but in Alternate Shot he made some long putts. On the first hole of the day, he made one from about 30 feet, maybe even farther.”

Milstead and Bryant complemented one another throughout the round, pairing quality approach shots with confident putting to keep their momentum moving across all three nines.
“It was really good long-iron play, and we were able to roll in a couple of good putts,” Bryant said. “That helped us start strong on the England Nine, and then we opened the Scramble with five birdies. We just kept it rolling from there.”
While Milstead had previous experience on the England and Scotland Nines, Bryant was playing Magnolia Creek Golf Club for the first time. Despite the unfamiliarity and challenging wind conditions, the team continued to apply pressure without knowing exactly where it stood on the leaderboard.
“The course was a really good test, and the wind was tough,” Milstead said. “We had to hit some solid iron shots and just kept our foot on the gas.”
Their ability to adjust to each format and remain aggressive throughout the day ultimately separated them from the field and secured the 2026 championship title.
The Southern Texas PGA extends its appreciation to Magnolia Creek Golf Club and its staff for providing an outstanding championship experience for the field.

The Section would also like to thank Golf Scorecards, Inc., Winston Collection, L2 Brands and Joseph Elliott for their continued support of the 9/9/9 Pro-Pro Championship and Southern Texas PGA Professionals.
