Meet the Member: Tyler Gammill, PGA
Tyler Gammill, PGA - From Backyard Putts to Big-Team Moments
Tyler Gammill’s journey in golf started early and never let up. Growing up in Austin, Texas, he was introduced to the game at six years old with a putting green in his backyard. While he played multiple sports early on, including soccer and cross country, golf became his focus in high school when he joined a highly competitive team. From that point forward, he never looked back.
Gammill went on to play four years of college golf at Southwestern University in Georgetown. After graduation, a conversation with Patrick Peek, PGA, introduced him to the PGA of America pathway and opened the door to a career in the golf industry. His time at Berry Creek Country Club helped turn that opportunity into a clear goal, and in July 2025, he achieved PGA Membership.
Now an Assistant Professional at OMNI Barton Creek Resort & Spa, Gammill is gaining experience across all aspects of the operation. From tournaments and member events to budgeting, merchandising, and course coordination, he is learning how everything connects within a facility that blends private club and resort play.
“I feel like I’m learning something new every day,” Gammill said. “Being able to see both the private and resort sides gives you a different perspective.”

Alongside his professional growth, Gammill continues to pursue his competitive goals. He regularly competes in Section events and aims to qualify for the PGA Professional Championship while representing the STPGA in team competitions like the Levy Cup.
“The camaraderie is the best part of those events,” Gammill said. “The team meetings, the dinners, just being around your teammates. That’s the stuff you remember. It brings you back to high school and college and makes it a lot of fun.”
Gammill was a key part in the 2025 Levy Cup Matches, where he went on to assist Team STPGA in their victory against Team NTPGA. This would be Team STPGA's first Levy Cup Matches victory since 2020.
Away from the course, he enjoys time on the water fishing and spending fall weekends back in Austin supporting the Texas Longhorns with family and friends.
With goals of becoming a Head Professional or Director of Golf while continuing to compete at a high level, Gammill is building a well-rounded path in the game, one that reflects both his passion and commitment to growth.
